To empty the Junk Email and Deleted Items folders:

  1. Open Outlook.com.

  2. Right-click the Deleted Items folder in the Folders pane.

  3. Choose Empty Folder.

Tip: Right-click the folder and choose Empty folder to delete email from the Junk Email folder.

  4. Choose Delete all to confirm in the Delete dialog box, that you want to delete everything in the folder permanently

Restore Deleted Items

By mistake, if you delete a message, or if you set up your account to empty the Deleted Items folder when you exit your session, and you want to get an email back, retrieve the message.

  1. Go to the Deleted Items folder and choose Recover items deleted from this folder.

  2. Choose the message you want to recover and select Restore.

  3. Outlook moves the message to the Inbox.
