How to Generate App Passwords With Yahoo Mail2-Step Verification ?

Follow these steps to create a new password that your email program can use to sign in to Yahoo Mail:

  1. Sign in to your email account & go to Account information.


  2. Go to Account security and enter your account credentials when prompted.


  3. Go to Generate App Password & continue to the next step, Or Click the Allow apps that use less secure sign in button to the On position & back to your email app, which you can now use to receive your emails from Yahoo.


  4. Now choose your email application from the dropdown list, or enter it if it’s not listed.


  5.  Copy the generated password for you.

    [You can no longer see this generated password so be sure to copy the password to your clipboard. And you have to create a new one if you lose it.]

  6. Click Done and back to your email app to enter the password when prompted.

How to Remove or Delete an App Password With Yahoo Mail 2-Step Verification ?

To verify that an app password no longer works to sign in to your Yahoo Mail account (for ex – after you stop using an app):

  1. Sign in to your Yahoo account & select Account Information.


  2. Click the Account Security.


  3. Choose the Manage app passwords.

  4. Choose the app you want to delete the password for and click on the trash can icon next to it.
